"Zeon Electric and Tata Motors' EV Division Join Forces to Establish 5,000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations"

In a significant move towards bolstering India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Zeon Electric Pvt Ltd, a prominent charge point operator based in Coimbatore, South India, has formally entered into a memorandum of understanding with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors. The agreement aims to facilitate the establishment of 5,000 charging points throughout the country by the year 2025, with a predominant focus on high-powered DC fast chargers ranging from 50kW to 480kW and AC destination charge points, as outlined in an official statement.

Zeon Electric's ambitious plan includes strategic placement of charging stations at locations frequented by Tata EV owners. The collaboration with TPEM is expected to leverage insights into customer behavior and preferences, thereby contributing to the expansion and optimization of the overall charging ecosystem.

Karthikeyan Palanisamy, CEO of Zeon, emphasized the significance of not only having chargers but also ensuring the reliability of charging stations. "Our partnership with TPEM would help us build a charging ecosystem that is convenient and relevant to EV owners. And most importantly, our partnership would help build a network that EV owners can count on," Palanisamy stated.

The joint effort between Zeon Electric and TPEM reflects a shared commitment to advancing the accessibility and dependability of EV charging infrastructure in India, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
