Pratt & Whitney has unveiled its India Digital Capability Center (IDCC) in Bengaluru, signaling a strategic move to drive innovation and digital transformation across its global operations.
The Bengaluru facility is set to collaborate with other RTX businesses in India, including Collins Aerospace and RTX Enterprise Services, fostering synergy within the group's technological ecosystem.
Expected to employ 300 professionals by 2027, the IDCC will focus on digital technologies aimed at propelling Pratt & Whitney's transformation efforts, according to Rahul Dharni, the company's Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer. Currently, Pratt & Whitney employs 600 individuals in India.
Rahul Dharni emphasized the significance of expanding Pratt & Whitney's digital footprint in Bengaluru, citing India's rich talent pool in aviation and technology as a driving force for accelerating the company's digital evolution.
Ashmita Sethi, President and Country Head of Pratt & Whitney India, highlighted the company's substantial investments in the region, including a $40 million infusion into engineering and supply chain operation centers over the past two years. The IDCC represents another multi-million-dollar commitment to bolster Pratt & Whitney's contribution to India's aerospace ecosystem.
Pratt & Whitney's presence in Bengaluru extends beyond the IDCC, with existing investments in three research and development centers in collaboration with prominent institutions like the Indian Institute of Science and Indian Engineering Centre.
Operating in India through four divisions, namely Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon Intelligence & Space, and Raytheon Missiles and Defense, RTX currently employs over 5,000 professionals in the country.
