Tech Mahindra and USI to Launch India’s First Engineering Offshore Development Center.

Tech Mahindra has partnered with Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) to establish the company’s first Engineering Offshore Development Center (ODC) in India. The center, located at Tech Mahindra’s Bengaluru office, will focus on smart device engineering, advancing USI’s capabilities in device software development, hardware design, and testing.

The collaboration is set to provide scalable solutions and accelerate time-to-market for USI’s product innovations. It will also strengthen the company’s research and development efforts by leveraging Tech Mahindra’s specialized talent pool and expertise in sectors like telecom and automotive.

Enhancing R&D Capabilities

John Fang, Chief Technology Officer at USI, noted that the ODC represents a significant milestone in expanding USI’s R&D capabilities. “By collaborating with Tech Mahindra, we are enhancing both the speed and quality of our innovations,” Fang said.

The center will focus on key areas such as modem software development, Android telephony, middleware, board support packages (BSP), device driver engineering, and advanced hardware and printed circuit board (PCB) design. Additionally, Tech Mahindra will enhance its modem, radio frequency software, and video bar development capabilities through the partnership.

Optimizing Product Development and Cost Efficiency

The new ODC will streamline USI’s product development processes, allowing the company to focus on its core competencies while benefiting from competitive pricing and efficient service delivery.
