Telangana to get AIIMS-like hospital.

The Centre has agreed to set up an AIIMS-like super speciality hospital-cum-teaching institute in Telangana.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has written a letter to state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said recently.

Harsh Vardhan has asked the state government to propose three-four locations where about 200 acres of land is available in each site.

'A central team would select one of the sites proposed by the state,' the release said, adding that chief minister has asked the officials to locate the sites and send proposals accordingly.

While the state government will have to provide infrastructure like electricity, water and roads for the super-speciality hospital, the Centre will bear the expenses for its construction and maintenance.
