$1.8bn Tabriz-Bazargan Highway Project in Iran awarded to Turkish construction company.

Ankara-based Construction Company, Bergiz Insaat has been assigned the construction contract for the Tabriz-Bazargan Highway Project in Tabriz, Iran.

The first part of the Project covers building a subway, which will start from Tabriz Airport and will connect to the Southern Ring Road passing through the city center. This project is valued at USD 850 million.

The other part involves the construction of a highway connecting Tabriz and Bazargan which will run a length of 255 kilometers and is valued at USD 1 billion.

The entire project is expected to be completed by the year 2017.

At present, Bergiz Insaat has ongoing project for building border roads between Konya and Karaman, and highway projects in parts of Northern Turkey.
