Aliaxis India to Invest ₹400 Crore in New Plants in Chennai, Hyderabad.

Belgium-based Aliaxis’ Indian subsidiary, Ashirvad Pipes, plans to invest ₹400 crore to establish two greenfield manufacturing facilities in Chennai and Hyderabad by FY27. The expansion aims to boost the company’s production capacity and strengthen its presence in the Indian market.

Ashirvad, a leading producer of PVC, UPVC, and CPVC pipes and fittings, currently operates seven manufacturing plants in India, including three in Bengaluru. According to Partha Sarathi Basu, Managing Director of Ashirvad by Aliaxis, the Hyderabad plant is set to commence operations in FY26, followed by the Chennai plant in FY27. The new facilities will increase the company’s production capacity from 3 lakh tonnes to 4 lakh tonnes per annum.

India’s pipes, fittings, and water tanks market is valued at approximately ₹80,000 crore, with the organised sector accounting for 60 per cent. Ashirvad holds a 12 per cent market share in the organised segment, with a dominant 50 per cent share in South India. The company aims to increase its national market share to 18 per cent by FY27.

Additionally, Ashirvad is targeting a revenue growth from ₹6,500 crore in FY24 to ₹9,000 crore by FY27. “We are one of the leading producers of CPVC pipes and water tanks in India, with around half of our total revenue coming from the CPVC segment,” Basu said.

The company has also signed an MoU with Jadavpur University for research on new molecule development, reinforcing its commitment to innovation. Currently, India contributes about 17 per cent of Aliaxis’ global revenue.
