Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Inspects Kanakipadu-Godavarru-Royyuru Road

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited the Kanakipadu-Godavarru-Royyuru road in Krishna district recently to inspect the ongoing road construction, a project set to benefit approximately 21,000 residents in the region.

The road, stretching from Kanikapadu Bus Stand through Godavarru to Royyuru in Penamaluru constituency, has undergone significant transformation. Just two months ago, the road was in such poor condition that walking on it was nearly impossible. Today, as the project nears completion, the improved road promises smoother and safer travel for local residents.

The issue of the dilapidated road was raised during the Palle Panduga (village festival) two months ago by Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad, who informed Pawan Kalyan about the severe difficulties faced by residents, including challenges with basic commuting. Pawan Kalyan responded promptly, allocating funds and ensuring that the construction would proceed without delays.

Since then, five kilometres of road have been constructed, providing relief to residents of the Kanikapadu, Royyuru, and Godavarru panchayats. On Monday, Pawan Kalyan visited Godavarru village to inspect the quality of the construction work, which was funded under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Of the total cost of ₹3 crore, 3.63 kilometres were built using NREGS funds, while the remaining section was completed with SDRF funds.

The construction involved laying a concrete-cement (CC) road up to Godavarru, followed by a bituminous (BT) road. The final phase of work is underway and is expected to be completed by Sankranti.

During his inspection, Pawan Kalyan questioned officials about the project's benefits, reviewed photographs of the road's previous state, and ensured that the construction adhered to high standards. He instructed officials to ensure the road was being built in three layers, with no compromise on quality, emphasizing the importance of preparing the base properly by removing old layers and using rollers before proceeding with the layering process.

Residents of Royyuru, who had endured years of hardship due to the poor road conditions, shared their grievances with Pawan Kalyan. The bad road had caused significant risks, especially for pregnant women traveling to hospitals, as well as difficulties for farmers transporting goods. They expressed their gratitude for the Deputy CM's swift approval of the project and his hands-on approach in overseeing its progress.

Pawan Kalyan, who had personally monitored the construction process during the Palle Panduga event, reiterated the importance of maintaining quality standards in all public development projects. He stressed that every rupee spent must benefit the people for the long term and encouraged citizens to monitor these projects and report any discrepancies.

The proactive efforts of Pawan Kalyan have brought much-needed relief and satisfaction to the residents of Kanikapadu, Royyuru, and Godavarru, ensuring their quality of life will improve with better infrastructure.
