Jakson Group Plans ₹6,863 Crore Solar Manufacturing Plant in Andhra Pradesh
Jakson Group plans to invest ₹6,863 crore in an integrated solar manufacturing facility in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, strengthening India’s renewable energy supply chain.
The proposed plant, to be developed at Meedivemula village through Jakson Integrated Solar, will have annual capacity to manufacture 10 GW of silicon ingots and wafers and 5 GW of solar cells. The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board has recommended allocating 290 acres for the project.
Development is planned in three phases, with around 2,000 jobs expected. The initial phase will add 3 GW each of ingot-wafer and solar cell manufacturing capacity, with commercial production targeted for May 2028. The remaining capacity is scheduled to become operational by 2030.
The project would extend Jakson’s presence beyond solar modules into upstream components, potentially reducing import dependence and supporting Andhra Pradesh’s ambitions as a clean energy manufacturing hub. Land allotment and implementation milestones remain subject to progress
