Andhra Pradesh government may adopt PPP model to provide specialised services at hospitals.

Specialised health services at government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh will be provided on public-private partnership, Health Minister Dr. K. Srinavas announced recently.

'The specialised health services require huge investments on infrastructure and also need specialised human resources and government alone can not bear such expenditure in all hospitals to provide such costly service,' Srinivas said.

'Government feels that it would be better to follow public and private partnership in providing such specialised services,' the minister said.

He said that low cost generic medicines would be supplied to general public at all government hospitals in the state very soon.
