Andhra Pradesh to Undertake Railway Projects Worth ₹72,000 Crore.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Tuesday that the Railway Minister has assured that the Ministry is prepared to undertake railway projects worth ₹72,000 crore in the state. During a meeting with Railway officials and state government representatives, he emphasized the urgency of expediting ongoing railway projects.
The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the completion of all current railway works, focusing on the progress of various projects. He raised concerns over delays and suggested measures for their prompt resolution. Naidu pointed out that many projects had stalled due to policies from the previous government and urged officials to take immediate steps to complete them on time. He committed to addressing any land acquisition issues hindering progress.
To facilitate this, Naidu announced the formation of a task force comprising officials from the Railway, Revenue, and Roads and Buildings (R&B) departments, aimed at resolving land acquisition challenges and ensuring the swift completion of projects.
Naidu specifically requested that the Kotipalli-Narsapur railway line be finished within four months. He approved the immediate release of ₹20 crore for acquiring 11 acres for the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line and instructed officials to initiate the Sattupalli-Kovvur line project after completing land acquisition.
Regarding the Kadapa-Bengaluru railway line, he advocated for a thorough discussion on the alignment changes before making a decision. Naidu set a target for all ongoing railway projects to be completed within three years, with doubling works to be finished within four years.
He also noted that integrating road, rail, and air networks could yield better results, further enhancing the state’s transportation infrastructure.
