AP CM to launch broadband connectivity project.
The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to provide broadband connectivity to all homes and the first phase of the project is to be launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The infrastructure to offer broadband connectivity will be available in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts with completion of cable-laying work. It will be extended to the rest of the State by July. Under the project, 15 Mbps broadband connection will be provided at Rs. 149 per month for households and 100 Mbps for offices at Rs. 999.
The project will provide free telephone within the grid like intercom, 100 free-to-air channels and internet for an affordable price as part of 'Digital AP' campaign. 'The total project cost is Rs. 333 crore and we will complete the connectivity across the State before the deadline,' Executive Director (Technical) of Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Ltd. (APSFL) A. Rama Rao said recently.
