Ashland Inc sets up global business centre in Hyderabad.

US-based specialty chemicals maker, Ashland Inc, has opened a global business centre in the city.

Announcing this at a press conference recently, its Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer J Kevin Willis, said the centre will have functional teams in financial services, information technology, legal and regulatory, and business analysts, among others.

'These transactional operations have strategic roles in our global businesses and we intend to build a critical mass in India by continuing to invest in all our business segments,' he said.

Currently, the centre has 120 professionals and the headcount will touch 300 in about a year.
