Ashwini Vaishnaw Allocates ₹70 Crore for Rayagada Railway Division in Odisha.
The Railway Ministry has earmarked ₹70 crore for the development of the Rayagada Railway Division in Odisha, officials announced on Friday. This investment, part of the East Coast Railway Zone, is expected to significantly improve connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.
The allocation was shared with Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi during his meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi. Majhi expressed his gratitude, stating, “I thank the railway minister for addressing the much-anticipated Rayagada Railway Division issue. We have had detailed discussions, and I am pleased to confirm that most formalities for the formation of the Rayagada Division are nearing completion. Work will commence soon once the tenders are finalized.”
Currently, the East Coast Railway Zone comprises three divisions: Khurda Road, Sambalpur, and Waltair. The new Rayagada Division will be established by splitting the Waltair Division.
