Ather Announces ₹2,000 Crore Manufacturing Plant in Maharashtra.

Ather Energy is set to establish its third manufacturing facility in Aurangabad Industrial City, Maharashtra, with an investment exceeding ₹2,000 crore. The new plant will have the capacity to produce up to one million vehicles and battery packs annually. This development from the Bengaluru-headquartered company is expected to create employment for 4,000 people.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the strategic importance of this investment, stating, “Ather’s decision underscores Maharashtra’s pivotal role as a preferred dstination for automotive innovation. This significant investment will not only enhance Maharashtra’s role in the electric mobility revolution but also contribute to boosting employment opportunities across the state.”Fadnavis also emphasized the advantages of the location, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, noting its effective connectivity via the Samruddhi Expressway, which has attracted increasing interest from investors. He added, “This move underscores Maharashtra’s supportive business environment and robust policies for electric vehicle manufacturing, aligned with Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s vision for India’s industrial growth.”

In a prior interaction with businessline, Fadnavis expressed his ambition to attract Tesla, the American multinational automotive giant, to Maharashtra, further indicating the state’s commitment to becoming a hub for electric vehicle manufacturing.
