Ayodhya Airport Set to be Operational by Month-End, Announces Jyotiraditya Scindia
In a significant development, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced recently that the Ayodhya airport is poised to be fully operational for commercial flight services by the end of this month, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the facility. The announcement comes in anticipation of the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, set to take place on January 22 next year.
Having personally surveyed the construction progress of the Ayodhya airport alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Scindia shared insights during a press conference, stating, "By the end of this month, the airport in Ayodhya will be completely ready. I am monitoring its progress not on a weekly basis but on a daily basis." He added that the inauguration ceremony would not only mark the opening of the airport but also the commencement of commercial flights from the facility.
The initial phase of the Ayodhya airport's development focuses on the construction of a terminal building spanning 6,250 square meters. This modern terminal is designed to accommodate up to 300 passengers during peak hours and boasts an annual capacity to handle 600,000 passengers. The completion of this project is expected to enhance connectivity to Ayodhya and facilitate increased air travel to the region, aligning with the broader infrastructure development goals of the government.
