Azure Power commissioned 5-MW solar plant

Azure Power commissioned a five megawatt photovoltaic plant at Kathauti village. The total project cost is about Rs 106 crore,
The plant was commissioned on December 31, 2011.
While this is Azure's third solar power plant in less than two years This is the first plant to be commissioned under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.

The five megawatt power plant, set up under the Phase I Batch I of the Mission, supplies power to the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. This plant is expected to reduce carbon emissions of up to 5,500 tonnes annually.
The project, spread over 40 plus acres of wasteland, has also generated income for the community through local employment.
