Bengal Govt Moves to Resolve Land Hurdles for Railway Projects.

The West Bengal government has initiated steps to resolve land acquisition challenges affecting key railway projects, including the Dankuni-Ludhiana freight rail corridor, railway overbridges, and underpasses, an official said recently.

Chief Secretary Manoj Pant directed officials to expedite solutions for land-related bottlenecks during a high-level meeting held at the state secretariat, Nabanna. The meeting was attended by Eastern Railway General Manager Milind Deouskar and senior officials from the state Land and Transport Departments.

"The chief secretary has instructed officials to swiftly address land acquisition issues and identify necessary land for railway expansion," the official added. Steps will be taken to fast-track the process to ensure smooth progress of the pending projects.
