BHEL Signs Technology Transfer Agreement with BARC for 50 kW Alkaline Electrolyser System

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed a Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for a 50 kW alkaline electrolyser system designed for hydrogen production. The technology, developed indigenously by BARC, boasts a high content of local materials.

The agreement was signed by Mr. K. Ravishankar, Executive Director (Corporate Technology Management and Corp R&D) at BHEL, and Dr. S. Adhikari, Associate Director (Knowledge Management Group) at BARC, in the presence of Mr. Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (Engineering, Research & Development) at BHEL.

This collaboration aims to scale up and commercialize the Indigenous Alkaline Electrolyser Technology for use in various sectors, including refineries, fertilizer production, steel manufacturing, and transportation. The initiative aligns with BHEL's commitment to the 'National Green Hydrogen Mission' and the 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan'.
