Bihar receives 156 proposals for industrial units

Patna: Bihar has received 156 proposals for setting up industrial units involving an investment of around Rs 90,480 crore from private entrepreneurs under the new industrial policy launched by the state government recently, state Industry Minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav said.

Replying to a short-notice question of Kishore Kumar (Ind), Yadav said the State Industrial Promotion Board (SIPB) had sanctioned altogether 156 proposals involving investment of Rs 90,480 crore.

Out of the proposals for setting up various industries, 14 units had so far started production, while 50 others were in different stages of completion, he said.

Yadav said the Centre’s recent order asking the state not to allow construction of ethanol-manufacturing units exclusively, had thrown a spanner on 10 proposals of a private entrepreneurs to set up its plants involving expenditure of Rs 13,557 crore.
