The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is embarking on a monumental expansion, with Chancellor Kumar Mangalam Birla announcing a ₹2,319 crore investment to establish a cutting-edge AI+ campus in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, modernize its existing campuses under Project Vistaar, and make a significant foray into the edtech space.

The new Amaravati campus, an ambitious project costing ₹1,000 crore, is designed to be a hub for future-focused learning. It will initially accommodate 3,000 students in Phase 1, with plans to expand to 4,000 students in the second phase. This state-of-the-art facility will feature advanced research centers, global collaboration zones, and dedicated entrepreneurship hubs. Notably, the campus will be built using sustainable, modular infrastructure, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

BITS Pilani plans to fund this entire ambitious project through its internal accruals, showcasing its strong financial position and commitment to academic excellence and innovation. This strategic investment aims to bolster BITS Pilani's standing as a premier educational institution, preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
