Bosch to invest Rs. 1,200 crore in India in 2014.

German auto parts maker Bosch Automotive Group recently said it plans to invest Rs. 1,200 crore in India during 2014.

'In 2014, the Bosch group plans to invest some Rs. 1,200 crore in the country,' Member of the Bosch board of management responsible for Asia Pacific Peter Tyroller told reporters.

He said, 'Much of this sum will go into building new facilities as well as augmenting existing ones such as the Adugodi site, which will be expanded to become an important R&D hub.'

'A portion of this capital expenditure in 2014 will also be directed towards capacity expansion at Bosch Automotive Electronics India, to enable an increase in the production of electronic control units,' he added.

Announcing the inauguration of a new software research and technology centre, Tyroller said 'India is currently home to our largest software engineering centre outside Germany, and at this new facility some of the top technical talent in the country will work in close collaboration with the academic community.'
