Care Hospital to set up second unit in Orissa
Bhubaneswar: Care Hospital, Bhubaneswar, a unit of the Hyderabad-based Care Group of Hospitals would invest Rs 60-80 crore in setting up its second multi-speciality hospital in the city which is scheduled to be operational within eighteen months.
“We have already taken possession of four and a half acres of land in the city for developing our second multi-speciality hospital. The proposed hospital will offer new areas of super speciality treatment like neuro-surgery and advanced cardiac surgery”, said Mahendra P Tripathy, managing director of Care Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the existing Care Hospital in the city plans to introduce new specialties like orthopaedics, paediatric cardiac surgery and urology within two months. The hospital would also add 18 beds soon to take its bed strength to 100.
In its one year of existence in the city, Care Hospital has offered treatment to nearly 10,000 patients in the out patient department and another 2,000 patients who were admitted in the hospital with 40 per cent of the cases in the critical care segment. The hospital has also performed about 100 bypass surgeries, 150 angioplasties, 1,000 angiograms and around 2,000 laparoscopic surgeries.
Care Hospital is the first hospital in Orissa to start cardiac electro physiology studies program and it also has an advanced dialysis unit to treat patients suffering from chronic renal failure. It has set up health camps in many places of the state including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Jajpur and Paradeep.
The hospital which offers healthcare in specialties like cardiology, nephrology, critical care, dialysis and laparoscopic surgery has a staff strength of 30 senior consultants, 30 internal doctors and 250 nurses.
