Chinese Firms Keen to Open Units in Pharma Hyderabad.

Chinese Pharma companies are willing to open their units in the proposed Pharma City in Mucherla village of Rangareddy district.

According to sources in the industries department, several pharma companies expressed willingness to come to the Pharma City.

'We have received offers to the extent that 6,000 acres of land will be filled in the Pharma city with units. Each pharma company may require 100 to 200 acres,” an official told after a detailed review on Pharma City by chief secretary Rajiv Sharma at the Secretariat recently.

Sources said the Pharma city will come up in 12,000 acres spread in Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar districts.

The first phase of the Pharma City will come up in 5,000 acres and the second phase in another 7,000 acres. Industries department officials said that they would receive funds from the Central government under National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZs) for the Pharma City.

The Pharma City in 12,000 acres includes research and development (R&D) centres and effluent treatments plants.

'We have planned that all the Chinese pharma companies will be located at one place in the the Pharma city. The other small and medium players will be located at a separate place,' an official said.

After the review, the chief secretary conducted a video conference with the district collectors of Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar on the land acquisition for the Pharma city.

The land acquisition process will be expedited and there were no major hurdles for the acquisition, sources said.
