CM to IDCO: Expedite Info Valley-II Infra Project Work.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently directed departments concerned to expedite infrastructure works like road, electricity, water supply and communication facilities for the Info Valley-II project.
On a visit to the project site at Arisal near Jatni, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of infrastructure development. He was accompanied by Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Minister of State for Information Technology Pranab Prakash Das.
Info Valley, the second IT hub in the city, is being developed by the Information Technology department through Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) on 668 acres of land. IT major Infosys is the anchor tenant of the project.
IDCO sources said the project is estimated at Rs. 151.11 crore, out of which Rs. 69.92 crore was spent during 2013-14 and the balance Rs. 81.19 crore will be utilised in the current financial year.
IDCO is in the process of acquiring 27.28 acres of land for construction of roads for the project. It has also been decided to construct a school of international standards within the project area.
Recently, the Centre had accorded in principle approval for establishment of a Greenfield electronic manufacturing cluster (EMC) on 215 acres of land within the complex.
The State-run IDCO has requested India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) to collect at least 10 per cent of the funds required for setting up EMC in the State from industrial bodies.
