Cognizant to Launch 1 Million Sq Ft Facility in Hyderabad
In a bold move amid a challenging period for the IT industry, Cognizant has unveiled plans for a significant expansion. The tech giant will establish a new 1 million sq ft facility in Hyderabad, which is expected to create 15,000 new jobs. The state-of-the-art center, designed to accommodate up to 20,000 employees, will focus on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital engineering, and cloud solutions.
This announcement came during a meeting between Cognizant's leadership and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the US on Monday. The groundwork for this expansion was laid during the Chief Minister's visit to Davos earlier this year.Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to expand our presence in Hyderabad, a city that continues to demonstrate its strengths as a technology and innovation hub.”
The new facility will enhance Cognizant's ability to serve global clients and advance its IT services and consulting offerings. In related developments, the Chief Minister, along with IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and other officials, is calling on the Telugu Diaspora to invest in Telangana. The delegation will head to South Korea on August 10 for a four-day visit, returning to Hyderabad on August 14.
