Corporation Schools Get Rs 3 Cr for Infra Development Projects.
A little more than Rs. 3 crore was proposed and accepted for carrying out infrastructure development works in Corporation schools by the Education Committee of the civic body recently.
The meeting was chaired by Suriyachari and attended by committee members, civic officials and Mayor P Karthiyayini. During the meeting, the education committee proposed Rs 3. 13 crore for development works in the Corporation limit schools.
Civic officials stated that as of now Rs 9.70 Cr worth of projects were in the process of consideration by the education committee. In response Suriyachari said, 'Around Rs. 6.5 Cr had been approved and we need the alloted fund statements.'
The civic officials said that they would present the documents for the allotted amount at the next meeting. The committee members asked the Corporation officials to revise the 1981 Coimbatore Municipal Amendment Act, to double the estimation amount for developing the wards.
