Daimler India Transitions Oragadam Plant to 100% Renewable Energy.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has transitioned its Oragadam truck and bus manufacturing facility to 100% renewable power, marking a major milestone in its sustainability efforts.

The company announced that it has successfully reduced its Scope 2 emissions ahead of its initial end-2025 target. DICV’s renewable energy strategy combines onsite solar power generation with offsite renewable power procurement, offsetting a total of 22,970 tons of CO₂-equivalent (CO₂e) emissions.

A key component of this initiative is a renewable power-generation plant featuring 15,000 solar panels, with a peak capacity of 4,300 kW. This facility alone offsets approximately 4,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions annually, contributing 17% of DICV’s total renewable energy usage.
