DPDC initiates to prepare feasibility for development schemes

Hyderabad: The MPA, Pir Amjad Shah Jilani, who has been nominated as the Chairman, District Peoples Development Committee (DPDC), Hyderabad has directed the officers of nations' building department to prepare feasibility reports for new development schemes and upgradation of existing public facilities in consultation with concerned public representatives.

He has asked to submit the feasibility reports to the committee within a shortest possible time so that people of the district avail required facilities accordingly.

Jilani was presiding over the first meeting of DPDC at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building. MPA, Syed Amir Ali Shah, Vice Chairman, Ex-Zila Council, Hyderabad, Syed Roshan Ali Shah, DCO Hyderabad, Ali Ahmed Lund all EDOs of District Government Hyderabad, Chaudhri Bashir Ahmed Advocate and Ex-President, District Bar Association and other officers of line departments attended the meeting.

He informed the meeting that the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah formed the DPDC with members like MPAs, MNAs of district and representatives of growers, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (HCCI) and legal community.

The aim of establishing the committee is to expedite the on-going development works, resolve the bottlenecks besides proposing new development schemes and feasibility reports for upgradation of existing public facilities on need basis.

He also said that focus would be made on extension and improvement in health and education sector especially, at the backward areas, where people have been deprived from basic facilities since long time.

He also informed the meeting that the Rural Health Centre Tandojam will be converted into the Taluka Hospital in practical sense and would be made well equipped to cater the needs of the area people.

The Chairman also directed the officers for expediting the procedural work for the approval and implementation of Tandojam Water Supply and Drainage Scheme. Further, Jilani recommended constitution of high-powered committee for the project for its proper implementation.

The meeting was informed that under 26 different development schemes in education sector, work at 102 different units has been initiated and 25 units have been completed while 50 were in progress. The Chairman DPDC also asked the EDO Health to submit detailed report about the trauma centre being established behind the CIA Centre Hyderabad.

Furthermore, he directed the EDO Health, EDO Works and Services, EDO Education and EDO Agriculture to submit taluka-wise detail reports about their development schemes with their future plans.
