Elevated road inaugurated.
A 6-km elevated road from Vishwa Bharti Public School in Sector 28 to Uflex intersection in Sector 60 was inaugurated by Union Minister Mahesh Sharma recently.
Also present were U.P. Minister Satish Mahana, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, Junior Minister Suresh Rana and U.P. Principal Secretary (Industries) Alok Sinha.
The elevated road has exit and entry ramps at Nithari, Sector 30 and NTPC Sector 24.
Noida Authority Deputy CEO Saumya Srivastav said the road will speed up the drive for south Delhi-bound commuters from NH-24 to Ashram. The 17-km stretch from Uflex intersection to Ashram will now be signal-free and is expected to take just 30 minutes. Senior Authority officials had on Tuesday visited the stretch and conducted trials.
A day before the inauguration, Samajwadi Party office-bearers had installed hoardings thanking former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for the project. The hoardings were removed by the Authority before the event.
“This event shows the failure of the BJP-led U.P. government. The elevated road was proposed and over 80% of the work completed during the SP regime...this government is trying to create an environment of development,” said former national SP spokesperson Anil Yadav.
