"Eli Lilly to Open New Capability Centre in Hyderabad".

Eli Lilly and Company has announced plans to establish a new global capability centre in Hyderabad, aiming to recruit over 1,000 highly skilled professionals to bolster its digital strategy and service delivery. This new facility, Lilly’s second capability centre in India after the one in Bengaluru, will be named Lilly Capability Centre India (LCCI) Hyderabad.

The centre will primarily focus on enhancing Lilly’s capabilities in automation, artificial intelligence, software product engineering, and cloud computing, providing cutting-edge technology solutions to meet the company’s evolving global business needs.

Manish Arora, Managing Director of LCCI Hyderabad, emphasized the critical role of India-based teams in driving Lilly’s global business, stating that the new centre would further strengthen the company's technical capabilities and operations.

“We are excited to launch LCCI Hyderabad, which will better equip us to meet growing business demands and fully leverage technology in our operations,” said Arora.

Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Electronics, and Communications, and Industries & Commerce of Telangana, welcomed the move, highlighting Hyderabad’s growing status as a hub for healthcare innovation and talent.

According to Diogo Rau, Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer of Lilly, the centre will bring together engineers to develop advanced technologies aimed at tackling some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.

LCCI Hyderabad’s initiatives will accelerate Lilly’s innovation, drive efficiency, and leverage data insights to speed up the delivery of next-generation medicines to patients globally.

Lilly plans to employ between 1,000 and 1,500 professionals, including engineers and data scientists, with recruitment already underway. The centre is slated to begin operations by mid-2025.
