Employment firm Sawaeed to build $5.5m training centre in Abu Dhabi.

Construction recruitment and outsourcing firm Sawaeed Holding is developing a $5.5m (AED20m) training centre in Abu Dhabi.

In a statement, Sawaeed said the “UAE’s largest vocational training centre for graduates and professionals” would be built in the capital’s Mussafah Industrial Area – Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (Icad) 3.

Due to commence operations by the end of 2019, the training centre will seek to connect the UAE’s construction companies with “qualified professionals and craftsmen”.

Chief executive officer of Sawaeed Holding, Hamad Saleh Ballaith, said the centre would particularly support the UAE’s construction sector as it readies to host Expo 2020 Dubai, which will kick off on 20 October, 2020.

The holding company’s subsidiary, Sawaeed Employment, currently serves 450 clients across the UAE, and has provided 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in the last decade. These roles cover the construction, oil and gas, and hospitality sectors, in addition to banking, administration, and government services.

Of the total number, 2,300 jobs have been allocated to Emiratis, and Ballaith said the UAE’s nationalisation programme would remain a priority for Sawaeed Holding.

“Emiratisation is one of our government’s top priorities, and Sawaeed is committed to helping UAE nationals join the government and private sectors,” he continued.

The holding company’s other subsidiaries include Sawaeed Facilities Management, Sawaeed Al Naba’a Facilities Management, and Takatof Employment.
