ESDS Software investing Rs. 735 cr to set up 5 data centres.
Nashik-headquartered ESDS Software Solution is investing about Rs. 735 crore to set up five data centres in the next 24 months, of which three would be in India and two in the UK.
Upon their commissioning, the company will now have a total of 5 lakh sqft of data centre space.
'We see a good demand for data centres in the country, with the cloud now getting a good acceptance. Further, the growth of e-commerce, big data, Internet of Things and telecommunication among others would result in an increased need for data centres,' said Piyush Somani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ESDS Software.
ESDS Software will be setting up an additional 4.5 lakh sqft of data centre space in the next 24 months.
It is setting up a 2 lakh sqft data centre in Navi Mumbai, 1 lakh sqft in Bengaluru and a 50,000 sqft centre in Nashik. In the UK, it is setting up two data centres of 50,000 each in Leeds and South UK.
ESDS Software will invest Rs. 200 crore for Navi Mumbai centre and Rs. 100 crore for Bengaluru, while that for Nashik would be Rs. 35 crore. For the UK centres, the company will incur an investment of £4 million.
The total investments would be about Rs. 735 crore, he added.
The company, which at present has a 50,000 sqft data centre in Nashik, counts has Pizza Hut, Kalifa, Essel Propack and Maharashtra State Election Commission among others as clients.
For the new data centres, the company would raise funds for the data centres through a combination of debt, internal accruals and private equity
