Five Firms Compete for Chennai Metro Line-4 Extension DPR to Parandur Airport

Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) has announced that it has received bids from five consulting firms for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) concerning the extension of Chennai Metro’s Line-4. This extension will stretch from Poonamallee Bypass to Parandur Airport, covering a distance of approximately 40 kilometers.

The firms competing for the DPR consultant contract include Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd., AECOM India Pvt. Ltd., Balaji Railroad Systems Pvt. Ltd. (BASRYL), SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd., and Urban Mass Transit Company Ltd. (UMTC).

The tender for the DPR consultant contract was issued by CMRL in February 2024, with a deadline set at 180 days. However, the estimated cost for the project remains undisclosed at this time.
