Foundation stone laid for first park in Bamyan

Bamyan City: The foundation stone of the first-ever public park in the central Bamyan province was laid. Bamyan Governor Habiba Sarabi laid the foundation stone of the park after volunteers levelled the ground for construction work.

Bamyan Mayor Muhammad Zahir Shidani said the park would have child entertainment facilities.

A swimming pool, swings, slides and other play equipment will be made available at the Peace Park, with flowers, trees, lawns and chairs, added Shidani.

The park in Ghalghala area on the suburbs of Bamyan City is being funded by the UN and the government. An amount of $30,000 would be spent on the park, revealed the mayor.
