Government Approves Three Projects Worth Over ₹4,800 Crore.
The Union Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved three major infrastructure and development projects spanning the railways, roads, and agriculture sectors, with a combined outlay exceeding ₹4,800 crore.
Among the approvals, the Cabinet cleared the Modernisation of Command Area Development and Water Management (M-CADWM) as a sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) for the 2025–26 period. The initiative has been allocated an initial outlay of ₹1,600 crore.
According to an official statement, the scheme aims to modernise irrigation networks by delivering water from existing canals or other sources to farm clusters. It will support the creation of robust back-end infrastructure for micro-irrigation systems, enabling underground pressurised piped irrigation to farms up to 1 hectare in size.
