Govt of Jharkhand Plans Glass Bridge at Dassam to Boost Tourism Footfall.

The Jharkhand state government's tourism department is planning to enhance the appeal of Hundru and Dassam Falls by setting up a glass deck at Hundru and a glass bridge at Dassam Falls in the coming months. The initiative aims to attract more visitors, especially during peak tourist seasons.Tourism Minister Sudivya Kumar, inspired by the glass bridge at Rajgir in Bihar, invited the project's developer to assess whether a similar installation could be created at the state's renowned waterfalls. Following the minister's invitation, the developers visited Ranchi to evaluate Hundru and Dassam falls. They confirmed that a glass deck could be installed at Hundru Falls, while a glass bridge was feasible at Dassam Falls, according to tourism secretary Manoj Kumar.

Both waterfalls, located in Ranchi district, are popular tourist destinations, drawing large crowds during the winter, spring, and monsoon seasons. The sites are especially popular as picnic spots in winter.

To further improve Hundru Falls' visitor experience, the tourism department has sanctioned Rs 3 crore for infrastructure upgrades. These include repairs to staircases leading to the base of the falls, the creation of resting areas, and enhanced lighting around the falls. Additionally, the viewing deck at the base will undergo refurbishment to make the location more accessible and inviting for tourists.
