Haryana Minister Anil Vij Seeks Metro Link Between Ambala and Chandigarh.
Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij on Friday urged Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to introduce a metro link between Ambala and Chandigarh to ease traffic congestion. Speaking at the BJP office in Ambala after welcoming Khattar, Vij highlighted the daily struggles of commuters who get stuck in traffic during peak hours and said a metro service would save time and benefit thousands of people.
Vij also praised the former Haryana Chief Minister for his role in establishing the Ambala Cantonment Domestic Airport.
Earlier in the day, Khattar celebrated Holi with Vij and party workers. Sharing a photo of the event on social media, he posted in Hindi, "Ye Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge" (We will never break this friendship).
Khattar, who is a BJP MP from Karnal, also lauded the party’s performance in Haryana’s municipal elections and encouraged newly elected representatives to focus on public welfare. He noted that since 2014, the BJP has consistently secured victories in Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body elections, reflecting strong public trust in the party.
The BJP recently won mayoral polls in nine out of 10 municipal corporations across the state.
