Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the bottling arm of Coca-Cola in India, marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new greenfield factory at the MIDC Lote-Parshuram Industrial Area in Khed, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The estimated investment for this ambitious project is Rs 1,387 crore, and the factory is slated to commence operations in February, covering an expansive area of 88 acres.
The press release from HCCB reveals that the facility is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 350 individuals. The upcoming factory will utilize water sourced from the Vashishti River, supplied through the MIDC pipeline, emphasizing sustainable resource management.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and State Industries Minister Uday Samant. HCCB Chief Executive Officer Juan Pablo Rodriguez and other senior leaders from the company also graced the occasion.
Juan Pablo Rodriguez highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating, "This significant milestone in the journey of HCCB symbolizes not only the planting of seeds for growth, sustainability, and community partnership in the fertile land of Maharashtra but also serves as a testament to the conducive business environment in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his views on the occasion, stating, "This is not only an industrial milestone but also a testament to the Government of Maharashtra’s commitment to fostering a synergistic relationship between industrial growth and social welfare.
