Hyderabad Metro shopping complex for vendors, hawkers.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited has constructed a shopping complex in one of the dense corridors it passes through to accommodate shops and hawkers who will be displaced by to the project.

The relief and rehabilitation (R&R) complex has come up on a 2,000 sq yard site with a built-up area of 70,000 sq ft, which includes two cellars, plus ground floor and four upper floors. This will help locate 80 shops and 100 hawkers with new platforms.

The metro has also acquired 1370 sq. yards of petrol pump land and this is seen to enhance the potential of the complex, apart from giving wide approach and better parking facility.

Following a court judgment, the land was taken over paying a compensation of ₹15.22 crore.
