IIT Bhubaneswar Collaborates with Ramco Cements for Sustainable Construction.

The Indian Institute of Technology-Bhubaneswar (IIT-Bhubaneswar) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ramco Cements Ltd to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) focused on sustainable construction and climate resiliency.

Named the Ramco Sustainable Construction and Climate Resiliency Centre (RAMSCON), the CoE will conduct high-quality research on advanced and eco-friendly construction materials and techniques. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to enhance the sustainability index of India's construction industry.

The research will focus on developing durable, efficient, and specialized concrete solutions aimed at improving climate resilience and sustainability in infrastructure projects.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, IIT-Bhubaneswar Director Shreepad Karmalkar emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, "This partnership will strengthen industry-academia interaction and drive innovation in sustainable and climate-resilient construction."

Ramco Cements officials highlighted the MoU as a transformational step for research and development in sustainable construction, paving the way for innovative solutions in the sector.
