"Indraprastha Gas Announces Plans for Compressed Biogas Plant Installations"

During the India Energy Week 2024, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has sealed significant collaborations, as confirmed by a recent stock exchange filing. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked with two technology partners to embark on the establishment of compressed biogas (CBG) plants.

These plants are slated to be spread across four States, namely Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, marking a strategic expansion for IGL. The MOUs were formalized in the presence of distinguished personalities including Praveen Mal Khanooja, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, alongside KK Chatiwal, the Managing Director of IGL, and Pawan Kumar, the Director (Commercial) of IGL, along with other senior officials.

According to the company's statement, this collaborative effort is geared towards generating 0.45 MMSCMD of biogas from waste materials. This output is equivalent to approximately 5 per cent of IGL’s daily requirement, underlining the substantial impact of the partnership on the company's sustainability goals.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the stock performance of Indraprasta Gas witnessed a slight decline, with its shares closing at ₹449.15 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), marking a decrease of 1.04 per cent.
