Infinity Power and HAU Energy Secure $566 Million Financing for Nefer Minya Solar and BESS Project in Egypt

21 October 2026: Infinity Power and HAU Energy have secured a debt financing package of up to $566 million for the development of the Nefer Minya Solar Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Minya, Egypt. The project comprises a 1.2 GWp solar power plant integrated with a 600 MWh battery storage facility.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has arranged $265 million, comprising $160 million from its own resources, $75 million from Bank of Jordan and up to $30 million from the Clean Technology Fund. Additional financing is being provided by DEG, FMO and Proparco.

The project will supply electricity to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company under a 25-year power purchase agreement. Once operational, it is expected to power over 1.4 million homes and reduce annual carbon emissions by approximately 1.5 million tonnes, supporting Egypt's renewable energy transition and grid stability
