Infra major keen on investing Rs. 20,000 crore in Hyderabad.

Renowned construction major Shapurji Pallonji Company Limited has come forward to invest up to Rs. 20,000 crore in the city, for construction of roads, flyovers, separators, and other structures. Representatives from the company met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently, and revealed their plans to invest in the city.

Mr. Rao placed before them the plans for new constructions including Secretariat, police headquarters, and Kala Bharati, for which the cost is estimated to cross Rs. 20,000 crore.

The company delegates have expressed willingness to invest and take up construction of the structures, for which deliberations will be initiated with State government soon. Development of Musi river catchment area, and proper use of nalas also came up for discussion. Chairman of the company Shapur P. Mistry, and MD Subrahmanyam, with other officials represented the company.

In another development, delegates from MRF Limited met the Chief Minister and revealed their plans to expand their factory at Ankampalli village of Sadashivpet mandal in Medak district.

The CMD of MRF K.M. Mammen and Senior General Manager Isaac Thamburaj explained that the existing factory was providing employment to 6,500 people since 1990, and has an annual turnover of Rs. 4,300 crore. Expansion plans include another unit by investing Rs. 980 crore, providing 905 additional jobs. Mr. Rao assured them of all facilities including power and water.
