Jindal Steel Commissions 3 MTPA Basic Oxygen Furnace at Angul Plant.

Jindal Steel announced recently the commissioning of a 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) basic oxygen furnace (BoF) at its Angul plant in Odisha, as part of an ongoing expansion project worth over ₹20,000 crore.

With the addition of the new BoF, the plant’s crude steel production capacity has increased from 6 MTPA to 9 MTPA, the company said in a statement.

A basic oxygen furnace (BoF) is used to convert molten iron or hot metal into steel by blowing gaseous oxygen, playing a crucial role in modern steel manufacturing.
