"JSW Energy Secures 1,200 MW Solar-Wind Hybrid Power Agreements in Maharashtra"

JSW Energy's subsidiaries have entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for two solar-wind hybrid projects, each with a capacity of 600 MW. The company announced the agreements, which are set for a 25-year term at a tariff of ₹3.60 per kilowatt-hour, with commissioning anticipated within the next 24 months.

The projects will be developed by JSW Renew Energy Six Limited and JSW Renew Energy Thirty Limited and will connect to Maharashtra's state transmission utility. The Letters of Award for these projects were received on August 29 and September 10, 2024.

With this latest development, JSW Energy's project pipeline now totals 8.3 GW, with PPAs signed for 4.4 GW. The company currently operates a power generation capacity of 7.7 GW across thermal, wind, hydro, and solar sources, with an additional 2.1 GW under construction.

As part of the $24 billion JSW Group, JSW Energy has set ambitious goals to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The company boasts a diverse energy portfolio, including 3,508 MW of thermal, 2,152 MW of wind, 1,391 MW of hydropower, and 675 MW of solar capacity, underscoring its commitment to both conventional and renewable energy sources.
