JSW Renew Energy Secures 700 MW Solar Project Power Purchase Agreement with NTPC.
JSW Renew Energy Thirteen Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for a 700 MW solar project connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and State Transmission Utility (STU). The 25-year agreement, announced today, establishes a tariff of ₹2.59 per kilowatt-hour (KWh), with the project expected to be commissioned by June 2026.
This new deal enhances JSW Energy's solar capacity pipeline to 3.2 GW, with PPAs signed for 2.0 GW of that total. The company's overall locked-in generation capacity now stands at 18.2 GW, comprising 7.7 GW operational, 2.1 GW under construction, and an 8.3 GW renewable energy pipeline.
JSW Energy has set ambitious targets to achieve 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, along with a goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. This latest agreement underscores the company's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting India's transition to cleaner energy sources.
