Karnataka clear Sandur Manganese and Iron Ore steel projects in Bellary.

The High Level Clearance Committee of Karnataka headed by CM Mr Siddaramaiah recently cleared 13 investment proposals worth about INR 9,912 crore, including an integrated steel plant in Bellary.

Sandur Manganese and Iron ore Ltd has proposed to set up the steel plant of 1 million tonnes capacity per annum at Sandur taluk in Bellary.

It is perhaps for the first time that the HLCC headed by Mr Siddaramaiah has cleared a new steel plant project in Bellary, after the illegal mining scam rocked the State in 2010.
