Laurus Labs to Build ₹5,000-Crore Advanced Manufacturing Complex in Visakhapatnam.

Pharmaceutical company Laurus Labs is set to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment exceeding ₹5,000 crore.

“We received an allotment of 532 acres from the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Vizag. Our focus is to create a world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing complex, where we plan to invest around $600 million (approximately ₹5,000 crore) over the next eight years,” said Satyanarayana Chava, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Laurus Labs.

Chava added that the proposed investment could increase depending on project requirements during implementation. “If the opportunity arises, we are prepared to invest more. Based on our current estimates, we need about $600 million for the new 530-acre complex, which aligns with our ongoing projects requiring roughly ₹1,000 crore per year in investments,” he said.

The new complex is expected to enhance Laurus Labs’ manufacturing capacity and strengthen its position in the global pharmaceutical supply chain.
