Kaynes Technology announced recently that it will commission a pilot production line at its ₹3,300 crore semiconductor unit in Sanand, Gujarat, with chip assembly, testing, and packaging set to begin by June 2025.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant, being developed by Kaynes Semicon Private Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd, was held on Wednesday. The company further stated that its main production line will be operational by January 2026.
The facility will have the capacity to assemble, test, mark, and package 60 lakh chips per day, catering to industries such as automotive, electric vehicles, industrial, consumer electronics, IT, telecom, and mobile phones.
Partnership with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor
Kaynes Technology also announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar partnership with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd (AOS), a global supplier of semiconductor products including Power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and IPMs.
Additionally, Kaynes has signed agreements with various technology and supply chain partners to support its semiconductor operations. The company also announced strategic cooperation agreements with eight institutions to focus on skill development in the semiconductor sector.
