Kolkata Metro to Launch Additional Services on North-South Corridor Starting January 13.
Kolkata Metro is set to run additional services along the North-South corridor starting January 13 on a trial basis, according to an official statement. Fourteen new services (seven up and seven down) will operate from Monday to Saturday between Noapara and Kavi Subhash along the Blue Line, targeting peak hours in the morning (9 am to 11 am) and evening (5 pm to 8 pm).
This move is expected to alleviate commuter congestion and improve overall service efficiency, the statement added. As a result, passengers will now benefit from metro services at six-minute intervals between Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash during rush hours.
In addition, special night services on the Blue Line will be available from Monday to Friday, with trains departing from Kavi Subhash and Dum Dum stations at 10:40 pm.
